First due off @ 12h15

Racing takes place at the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon with the first on a ten-race card due off at 12h15.

Jockey Denis Schwarz enjoyed a good feature win on Classic Day for the Fabian Habib yard and five of his eight rides today are for them.

He looks to have  a couple of decent winning chances and he may be the jockey worth following.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Stuart Pettigrew saddles Fushimi Inari in Race 5. He should have won his last start as he shifted away from the crop in the closing stages.

He finished 0.5 lengths behind Positive Attitude that day and is 0.5kgs better off at the weights. There should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Ultimissimo from the Kobus Roux stable takes her place in Race 3. She has shown improvement in her last two starts.

She raced from just off the pace last time and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Fire Away is a progressive type and, in this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
