Anyone For Pudding?

The first is off at 11h55

After a couple of rough results at the Vaal on Thursday, racing returns to Turffontein today and sees the return of the unbeaten Summer Pudding from the Paul Peter stable.

It is an early start with the first race due off at 11h55 and the lucky last off at 16h35.

Summer Pudding is likely to need her run and the mile is shport of her optimum trip but the scratching of Lady Of Steel will open the door for her to make it 8 wins in 8 starts!

Jimmy The Rich writes that Pack Leader from the Alec Laird yard is the best bet on the day and is a likely banker in all exotics.

He was very unlucky not to have won his last start, as a horse carried him all the way to the outside rail at the 1500m mark.

The manner in which he finished off his race that day caught the eye. He is having his second run after a rest this afternoon and should strip a much fitter horse.

He is the best weighted runner here and should take a power of beating.

Mike and Adam Azzie send out Captain Of Tortuga in Race 5 and he could give jockey S’manga Khumalo a quick double on the day.

S’manga Khumalo – rides Captain Of Tortuga

He has run two good races since returning from a 13-week break. He has finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this distance.

He should be cherry-ripe this afternoon and may be the one to side with.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h05
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h40
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h15

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
