Vaal The New Venue Today

The Bipot starts in the second at 12h40

Turffontein racing has been switched to the Vaal Classic track which plays host to a nine-race programme this afternoon.

Gallops were held earlier today and the Turffontein surface did not pass the test.

There are four feature races on the day including the Grade 3 Acacia Handicap, Listed Ruffian Stakes, Listed Storm Bird Stakes and the Listed Bauhinia Handicap.

The first race is due off at 12h10.

Jimmy The Rich writes Naarah from the Dorrie Sham stable takes her place in the Listed Ruffian Stakes. She was super-impressive when winning her last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course.

She showed plenty of speed that day and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since.

The daughter of Vercingetorix looks to be above average and should keep her unbeaten record intact.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Candice Dawson sends out Eliud in Race 8. He was his own worst enemy last time as he overraced in the early stages of the Gr 2 WSB Gauteng Guineas.

His form prior to that outing was decent.

The son of Futura is the best weighted runner in this contest and if switching off early, he should be the one to beat. It is encouraging that Warren Kennedy steps back into the saddle.

The false rail is 5m on the back straight to 9m on the bend, with a 9m spur at the 700m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 12h40
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h15
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h50
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h25
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the sixth race at 15h00

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
