Be With Voltron At Turffontein Today

The Bipot starts in the second race at 13h00

Turffontein runs alongside Durbanville this afternoon and a nine-race programme is set to take place on the Inside course.

Muzi Yeni has eight rides booked, with a few decent chances of winning. He may be the jockey worth following.

The first race is due off at 12h30.

Jimmy The Rich writes that the in-form stable of Mike de Kock saddle Verolina in Race 2. She has finished second in both her efforts to date.

She showed good speed in her comeback run last time, but was outrun in the latter stages by Stolen Kiss. The daughter of Vercingetorix should have no issues with the 1450m and she will strip much fitter.

Muzi Yeni takes the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Voltron from the Sean Tarry stable takes her place in the last race. She should have finished closer last time as she took an awkward stride at the 150m mark.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance.

Her best form has been under jockey Lyle Hewitson and she should return to winning ways.

The false rail is set at 10,5m on the back straight and bend with a 10,5m spur at the 500m mark.

Chase Maujean will not be riding today as he is medically indisposed.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
