Turffontein Stands Alone Today

The first race is due off at 12h40

Turffontein Racecourse hosts a nine-race programme this afternoon.

Jimmy The Rich writes that trainer Paul Peter saddles Riverstown in the lucky last race.

He was an easy winner of his last start over 1160m on the Standside course. He has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this course and distance.

Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the combination should take a power of beating.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Candice Dawson saddles Slings And Arrows in Race 5.

He showed good speed last time, but was caught in the latter stages by the well-backed Val D’orcia.

The son of Trippi tries the 1450m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should shed his maiden tag.

The false rail is at 2,5m on the back straight and bend with a 2,5m spur at the 500m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 13h15
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 13h50
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 14h25
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 15h00
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 15h35
