Jimmy The Rich writes that Tuscan Winter from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable is the best bet on the programme.

He followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course.

The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching.

The son of What A Winter looks to have some class about him and if not too far out of his ground, he should be the one to beat.

After saddling a winner at the Vaal on Thursday, Ashley Fortune sends out Capetown Affair in the last race.

He has shown signs of needing his last two starts after returning from a lengthy 51-week break. He won his only attempt over this course and distance.

The son of Capetown Noir has dropped nicely in the ratings and should be at peak fitness. Calvin Habib retains the ride and he may be the one to cause the upset.

Diego De Gouveia will not be riding today as he is Mauritius bound.

The false rail is 2m on the back straight to 5m on the bend, with a 5m spur at the 700m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h55
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 13h30
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 14h05
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h40
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 15h15

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
