Saturday Abandoned – Cape Racing Amend Fixtures

Forward planning as Mother Nature speaks

Cape Racing advises that further to the earlier release of Wednesday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth racemeeting abandonment, it has been confirmed that the racemeeting scheduled for this Saturday, 20 July, will also be abandoned.

Unfortunately, a further downpour is forecast overnight and expected to last until Friday.

In positive news, the weather is expected to improve dramatically from the weekend and into the latter parts of this month.

Initiating an early abandonment allows for an accurate re-schedule of the busy period of racing to follow, allowing trainers and stakeholders to plan efficiently.

A race meeting will be added at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Thursday, 25 July.

A further meeting will be added at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday, 30 July.

The racing programme for this last part of the season will therefore be as follows:

  • Mon, July 22: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth
  • Thu, July 25: Hollywoodbets Durbanville
  • Sat, July 27: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth
  • Tue July 30: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth

Please note that nominations will be re-opened for the four final meetings of the season.

The NRB will respond with nominations and acceptance dates. Please refer to: https://caperacing.co.za/races/ for detailed changes.
