Rouvaun To Call As Fairview Moves To Poly

First race off at 11h55

Racing at Fairview Racecourse today has been moved from the turf to polytrack and eight races are carded.

The Cape’s ‘Golden Voice’ Rouvaun Smith will be in the commentary box. The seasoned internationally experienced veteran makes a rare appearance in Gqeberha.

The combination of trainer Candice Bass-Robinson and jockey Aldo Domeyer make their way to the Eastern Cape and team up in four races. The first is due off at 11h55.

Divine Odyssey from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable is the possible Pick 6 banker in Race 7. He has been an easy winner of all four victories in the Eastern Cape. He returns from an 18-week break which would have done him the world of good.

He is a class above the rest of this field. He races well fresh and should notch up his eleventh career victory.

Trainer Jurgen van Heerden saddles Sarajevo in Race 6 and she represents decent each way value. She showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1300m on this course.

The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Trippi is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. She will enjoy the step up to the mile and if jumping on terms, she may be the one to cause the upset.
