Eight races are carded on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack this afternoon. Don’t forget about the Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge which is free to play and if you finish in the top 20 on the leader board, you can win your share of R10 000. The first is due off at 12h30.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Candice Dawson saddles Player in Race 2. He was not disgraced when finishing sixth against winners in his last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course.

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and will be cherry-ripe. Back in Maiden Company, he should be the horse to beat.

Higher Purpose from the Kumaran Naidoo stable takes his place in Race 7. He showed very good improvement in his first run for the stable. He set the pace before getting caught late by The Bayou. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Vercingetorix and he can return to winning ways.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h05
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h40
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h13
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h47
