Sewgoolam Joins NHRA Board

Attorney based in Pietermaritzburg

In terms of Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the National Horseracing Authority the Nominations Committee, consisting of Adv. Altus Joubert, Larry Nestadt, Rodney Trotter and Jonathan Witts-Hewinson has appointed Rikesh Sewgoolam to fill the vacancy on the National Board in terms of clause 15.1.1, read with 15.4.5.2, of the Constitution with immediate effect.

Mr Sewgoolam holds a Bachelor of Business Accounting (Australia) degree, completed the Certified Practising Accountant’s Programme (Australia) and holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

He is the sole Director of a legal practice in Pietermaritzburg and a Director of a legal practice in Johannesburg specialising in litigation, conveyancing, administration of deceased estates, insolvency law and mergers and turnarounds (business rescues).

Mr Sewgoolam currently serves on the Master of the High Court’s panel of liquidators and trustees.

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa welcomes Mr Sewgoolam to the National Board of Directors.
