Rider Cup Meet Moves

Interprovincial clash

Due to prior riding commitments on the weekend, the fourth annual New Turf Carriers Rider Cup meeting that was scheduled for Greyville on Saturday, 21 July, has been moved to Sunday, 22 July.

As a result, the Turffontein meeting scheduled for Sunday, 22 July, has been moved to Saturday, 21 July.

In terms of the published criteria, which considers national statistics at the end of May, Gold Circle will extend an invitation to the following jockeys to represent their teams.

Richard Fourie

HIGHVELD HAWKS

Lyle Hewitson (Capt)

Muzi Yeni

Callan Murray

KZN FALCONS

Anton Marcus (Capt)

Keagan de Melo

Warren Kennedy

Each team will comprise four riders, the fourth member of each team being a Captain’s “pick”.

The KZN Falcons won the inaugural Rider Cup in 2015 and the Highveld Hawks have been champions over the past two years.
