Richard The Recordbreaker Is Back!

First due off @ 12h40

Winning Form-sponsored reigning SA Champion jockey Richard Fourie makes his return to the saddle at Fairview today, with seven rides.

With local racing sparse this week after a blank slot on Monday, the two Wednesday fixtures of the Hollywoodbets Durbanville racemeeting moved due to the weather, and the Hollywoodbets Greyville racemeeting cancelled due to a lack of runners, local fans will be hungry, and Richard Fourie will no doubt be part of many plans.

Fresh off a well-deserved break, Fourie rode 3 winners at the rain-delayed Hollywoodbets Durbanville meeting on 1 August.

The recordbreaker will be chasing current log-leader Sean Veale (21 wins) and Muzi Yeni (19 wins). Neither of the last mentioned will be riding today.

Fourie is booked for seven rides on today’s eight-race programme.

Trainer Alan Greeff sends out Back For More in Race 3 and she is the best bet on the programme.

She should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m on the turf last time as she hung inwards in the final 200m.

She finished second in her penultimate run over 1300m on this course.

She is likely to race on the speed under Richard Fourie and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Irontail from the Sharon Kotzen stable takes his place in the lucky last.

He is better than his last start over 1200m on the turf. His three efforts prior to that outing on this course were good.

The 7yo gelding takes a drop in class and he looks capable of bringing up his fifth-career victory.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
