Sporting Post photographer Candiese Lenferna made her own bit of professional history when celebrating her first ever race at Del Mar as she captured Red Flag, who made it three on the trot off the Glatt claim under Umberto Rispoli, to win the Allowance Optional Claiming Plate on Friday.

So the 41ST renewal of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is under way!

Saturday evening’s spotlight will be on Hollywood Syndicate star Isivunguvungu in the Prevagen Breeders’s Cup Turf Sprint (Race 5) at 21h41.

The excitement continues with Race 8 at 23h41, the Breeders’ Cup Classic, showcasing elite runners like City of Troy and Fierceness.

Another Breeders’ Cup highlight, Race 9 is the Fillies & Mares Turf, which is off at 00h25 on Sunday with Drakenstein star Beach Bomb the SA flagbearer.

Watch every stride on Gallop TV.
