Rascova’s Hawwaam Half -Sister Features On BSA Online Sale

Lot 17 - worth a look

Cheveley’s Lot 17 – Unnamed 2yo filly by Hawwaam ex Netsuke (Western Winter)

An unbroken Hawwaam 2yo half-sister to recent R1 million Maine Chance Farms Gr1 Majorca Stakes winner Rascova is bound to attract plenty of interest when offered by Cheveley Stud on the BSA February Online Sale which is being held on 4 and 5 February.

The athletic filly is out of the Western Winter five-time winner Netsuke, which makes her a half-sister to Lancaster Bomber’s daughter Rascova, conqueror of the top-class Double Grand Slam in the recent Maine Chance Farms Gr1 Majorca Stakes, and a dual Gr2 winner in addition to that.

Have a look at the catalogue page here.

The unnamed filly’s young Wilgerbosdrift-based sire Hawwaam celebrated his first winner from only his second runner when his son Read All About, hacked up on his Turffontein debut just over a week ago.

Trained by Mike de Kock and bred by his part-owners Ridgemont, Read All About It is out of the London News mare Picadilly Miss.

A son of six-time South African Champion Sire Silvano (whose star sire son Vercingetorix is carrying all before him this season), champion Hawwaam won ten of just 13 starts, with the strapping bay earning R6,769,775 in stakes.

Like Vercingetorix and Dynasty, Hawwaam won the Gr1 Daily News 2000, with his remaining Gr1 successes coming in the S A Classic, Premier’s Champions Challenge (twice), and H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes.

Hawwaam won eight graded races, with the champion winning over distances ranging from 1200m to 2000m.
