Racing Family’s Tragic Loss

Funeral arrangements will be advised in due course

Janet Scott, sister of well-known racehorse owner Rob Scott and KwaZulu-Natal racehorse trainer Colin Scott, passed away tragically in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A male was arrested in connection with her death and is due to appear in court today.

“Janet passed on in tragic circumstances and our entire family is shocked and deeply distressed by her passing,” said Rob Scott, a director of the Racing Association and also head of horseracing television channel Tellytrack and Phumelela’s marketing and media division.

“We would like to thank everybody for their condolences and support, but simultaneously ask that everybody respects our grief and refrains from approaching the family for comment or sensationalising a tragic occurrence,” he added.

Janet (54) is survived by her daughter Stacey Looch, her father Tom and her brothers Colin and Rob.

Funeral arrangements will be advised in due course.
