Racing At The Vaal Today

The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h55

Eight races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge which gives you another chance to win.

The first is due off at 12h55.

War Empress from the Ashley Fortune stable takes her place in Race 3 and she is the best bet on the programme. She should have finished closer to the winner in her comeback run over this course and distance as she hung in the final 300m.

She was also reported to be coughing post-race. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. In this field, she should take a power of beating.

Corne Spies and his son Xander (Pic -Candiese Lenferna)

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Corne Spies saddles Mcebisi in the lucky last. He produced a typical second run after a rest last time.

His comeback run when third over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course was encouraging. He continues to drop in the ratings and from pole position, is capable of returning to winning ways in this line-up.

JP van der Merwe is not riding today.
