Trainer Mike de Kock sends out Tyrconnell in Race 1 and he should give punters a good start to the day.

He produced an encouraging comeback run after 45 weeks off the track. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the business end.

The son of The United States would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should be the horse to beat.

Every Cloud from the Barend Botes stable represents decent each way value in Race 5.

He won a good race over 2000m on this course last time. He set the pace that day, found another kick and won with ease.

The son of Pathfork takes on stronger, but there are no other frontrunners which will suit him well.

He will be allowed to dictate his own terms under 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo and may be hard to peg back.
