Trainer Alec Laird reminisces on the In The Box Seat show about his family’s rich history in horse racing, from his father, Syd Laird, who trained some of South Africa’s greatest horses like Colorado King, Sea Cottage, Politician and Yataghan, to his own journey in the sport.

Alec shares his thoughts on the current TCO2 issue affecting South African horse racing and we hear about the invaluable lessons he learned from his father.

He reflects on the remarkable support he received early in his career and shares stories of some his best horses in Mill Hill, London News and Smart Call.
