As a relatively new syndicate race horse owner I fullly concur with Mr Matthew de Kock (MdK) insofar as 1. Every person in your yard (no matter % ownership) must be appreciated and 2. The journey along the way is just as important as having a winner (or not). My own experience is that we (syndicate owners) are treated excactly the same by the breeder, pre-trainers, trainers, jockeys etc. as what they do with their large and affluent clients. It therefore makes the journey of being a small owner very rewarding and fulfilling PS I only have syndicate horses with two racing stables so I’m therefore not in a position to generalize. MdK’s Australian experience with syndicates will/should be benefitial to all syndicate owners in their yard
