CTS Sales Director Amanda Carey says that it’s all systems go for the much anticipated 2021 renewal of the CTS Cape Premier Yearling Sale, to be staged for the first time at the elegant De Grendel Estate on Sunday.

While it’s been a busy few weeks in the build-up, Amanda told the Sporting Post that the CTS team was ready for the big day.

“It’s been an exciting experience planning the sale in the magnificent new venue. And in the new times that we live and work, logistics and operational processes and arrangements require great attention to detail, and I must stress that Covid-19 regulations will apply in all respects. We encourage prospective buyers to optimise their convenience and to register timeously – and to please contact me in need,” she urged.

For purposes of housekeeping, the sales veteran asked that the following points be noted:

  • *Registered Buyers will be accommodated in the main Bedouin.
  • *Vendors will be accommodated in the Vendors Bedouin at the stable area.
  • *Mobile Food Stations are available .
  • * De Grendel wine station available in the Bedouin.
  • * Punters Gin Bar also available in the Bedouin.
  • *Seating is reserved for Buyers only.
  • *Masks are please to be worn when not eating and drinking.

This sale has produced an impressive 42 Gr1 winners since its inception in 2011.

The list includes  the likes of Master Of My Fate’s flying son Tempting Fate, Vodacom Durban July winner Power King, recently retired Equus champion Carry On Alice, Undercover Agent, Vardy, Van Halen and Kasimir.

There are also more than 180 stakes winners on the Premier honour roll, including international performers Janoobi, Singapore Sling and Lobo’s Legend.

The sale has also produced five current stallions in Saturday Gr1 SA Fillies Classic favourite sire Act Of War, William Longsword, Red Ray, Horizon and One World.

The sale starts at 14h00 – the draw for the CTS Gold Rush will take place 15 minutes before the start of the sale.
