Political Party Hosts Conference At Turffontein Today

The first is off at 12h00

The Racehorse Owners Association have advised that the ANC will be hosting a conference at Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday.

There will thus be a heightened police presence and specific protocols that need to be followed for security purposes.

The ROA have requested visitors’ cooperation and understanding as they work to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the conference.

They have requested that the Marble Arch entrance be used for access.

Turffontein runs alongside the Hollywoodbets Durbanville slot this afternoon, and nine races are carded on the Inside track.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge with the first at Turffontein due off at 12h00.

Alesia’s Love from the Roy Magner stable should give punters a good start to the day. She showed good improvement in her last start over this course and distance.

Despite getting squeezed at the start, she showed good pace before getting outrun late by One Fell Swoop. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since.

The daughter of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and with luck in running, she should shed her maiden tag.

Trainer Fanie Bronkhorst sends out Elusive Swann in the lucky last and he may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He has finished fourth in his last three starts. He lost a length leaving the start last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

Four of his six career victories have come over this distance and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 13h00
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h35
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h10
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 14h45
