The Sabine Plattner Racing Team enjoyed a treble, including a graded stakes double, at a sundrenched Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday, with the 2024 WSB Cape Town Met entrant Master Redoute scoring an eyecatching win in the R350 000 Ridgemont Gr3 Peninsula Handicap.

Trainer Andre Nel had his Rondeberg string on song, with Saartjie finding her winning stride to seal the honours in the SplashOut Gr3 Victress Stakes, a half hour prior to Plattner homebred Master Redoute storming through at any price to win the Ridgemont Peninsula Handicap.

After a run of five seconds in feature races, Master Redoute was not fancied, but certainly ready to break his bridesmaid tag and he duly flew late under Anthony Andrews to score a fluent victory in a time of 108,30 secs.

The 10-1 Future Swing, also a Met entry, ran a cracker to be beaten 0,40 lengths in second, with Pacaya (25-1) coming from the clouds for third, ahead of Tarry stayer Nebraas (100-1) in fourth.

Sugar Mountain (9-2) was in fifth, with just a length covering the top five.

Master Redoute became Querari’s 40th individual stakes winner in the process and was bred by La Plaisance from the twice winning Redoute’s Choice mare, Lady Redoute.

Now a winner of 3 races with 8 places from 19 starts, Master Redoute took his stakes total to R401 413.

One of 135 stakes winners for his sire Oasis Dream, Querari has nine lots on offer at the 2024 Cape Racing Premier Yearling Sale Powered By Tattersalls.

The Plattner Team completed the treble in the last when the improved again Axl made it two on the trot, with a facile victory in the Class 4 1200m.
