Pick 5 At Vaal Today

First is off at 12h30

Racing takes place on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon and eight races are carded.

The first is due off at 12h30 with the lucky last set for 16h30.

Callmewhenuneedme from the Stuart Pettigrew yard takes her place in Race 4 and she is the best bet on the programme. She has produced two good efforts to date, the latest of which was in the Listed Ruffian Stakes.

The daughter of Master Of My Fate finished second on debut over this course and distance. She is a progressive type and, in this line-up, she should be the horse to beat.

Time To Meditate from the Weiho Marwing stable represents decent each way value in Race 5. He was not disgraced when taking on winners over 1900m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. The son of Time Thief should enjoy the drop to 1800m.

The blinkers and tongue-tie seem to have done the trick. He returns to Maiden Company and from his good draw of four, may be the one to side with.

In the opening leg of the Pick 6, only one horse has raced before. So that makes it a Pick 5 in essence. Pity!
