Peter Angel Is Class Act In Eighth Today

First race is off at 11h50

Racing is back on the Standside course at Turffontein this afternoon and ten races are carded.

The first is due off at 11h50 with the lucky last set for 17h00.

Trainer Tony Peter sends out VJ’s Angel in Race 8 and she is the possible Pick 6 banker.

A delighted Calvin Habib salutes as VJ’s Angel storms home to beat The Specialist (Smanga Khumalo) and Grand Crescendo (Muzi Yeni) in a superb finish (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

VJ’s Angel storms home to beat The Specialist (Smanga Khumalo) and Grand Crescendo (Muzi Yeni) in a superb finish in her last start as a 2yo last term (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

She had to overcome the widest draw in the Gr2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge last time.

The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter under Gavin Lerena.

She has won twice from three starts on this course. She is the class horse in this contest and she should take a power of beating.

Mastership from the Dianne Stenger stable takes his place in Race 7.

He found one too good in the form of Barbaresco last time. He has won three times and finished second once from as many starts over this distance.

The son of Master Of My Fate will strip a much fitter horse today and with just 55kgs on his back, he should return to winning ways.

Please note that Piere Strydom is not riding today.
