In an exciting update in the run up to the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile taking place on 31 October 2015 at Turffontein, the 16 chosen celebrities have not only been paired with a charity for the day, but also with a media partner who will be supporting these great causes on the day as well as in the weeks before and after the race.

Matched with Nageng Primary Afterschool Centre is funny man Trevor Gumbi, who got to know some of the learners on Tuesday 13 October when they met at a fun day, held at Turffontein Racecourse.  Nageng Primary and Gumbi have been paired with the Boksburg Advertiser as their media partner for the race. The Boksburg Advertiser dates back to 1895 when the Boksburg Herald first appeared and today this publication is still a pillar of the Boksburg community.

Newly crowned Mrs South Africa Candice Abrahams has been paired with the Lesedi Programme which offers deserving previously disadvantaged youth from Ekurhuleni an opportunity to study further through a learnership programme at accredited institutions to enable them to become economically active. The programme also provides mentorship which includes life skills and emotional intelligence.  Over 550 young people have been sponsored on this programme to date with 100% of electrical learners securing employment and 90% of hospitality learners securing employment.

Abrahams and the Lesedi Programme have been matched with Hello Joburg Magazine. Hello Joburg Magazine is the official city guide to Jozi and has been going strong for over 34 years already.
