The Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) Appeal Panel has delivered its findings regarding the Appeal by Jockey Patrick Cosgrave against a six month suspension from riding in races for improper riding pursuant to ERA Rule of Racing 69 (i) when riding ANAEROBIO (ARG) in Race 8 the Jebel Hatta (Group 1) at Meydan on Saturday 8 March 2014.

The ERA Appeal Panel dismissed the Appeal but varied the penalty to a four month suspension from riding. The suspension will now expire on 16 July 2014.

The ERA Appeal Panel further decided:

1.     The Appeal deposit of AED 1,500 is forfeited to the Emirates Racing Authority

2.     Each party, the Emirates Racing Authority and the Appellant Jockey, are to bear their own legal and other costs and disbursements, save that:

1.     The fees of the Appeal Hearing transcribers be borne by Emirates Racing Authority and the Appellant Jockey equally

2.     The Appellant Jockey is to bear the costs of the Appeal Panel members.
