In-form sprinter Paddy’s Day bids for a fourth straight victory over Newcastle’s five-furlong course in the BetUK: It’s Where The UK Bets Handicap on Thursday.
The five-year-old has started 2025 in great form for Nigel Tinkler, reeling off a hat-trick under apprentice Alex Jary and going up 10lb in the handicap to 86.

Paddy’s Day is owned by an Ontoawinner syndicate, whose colours were carried to Finals Day success in 2018 by the Archie Watson-trained Corinthia Knight.
Simon Bridge, co-founder of Ontoawinner, said: “Paddy’s Day has been taking it fairly steady since his last win. He worked last week and went very nicely, so we decided to take our chance here.
“He has had a great winter so far. He seems to have come to himself of late and, now he is a five-year-old, is developing into the sort of horse we always thought he could be.
“His record since last autumn, on the whole, is very good. There were a couple of races in which he was just beaten, and they could have been wins had luck been on his side.
“I think we will be guided by how Thursday goes in terms of future objectives. He is an exciting horse for the turf as well, so will see what Nigel would like to do.”
Buzz Box is another contender on a roll after winning his last two starts at the track for Bryan Smart, latterly beating subsequent winner Monks Dream.
Miss Attitude also arrives on the back of a victory, with Jack Channon’s mare making a successful comeback at Southwell earlier this month.
The weights are headed by the 102-rated Tees Spirit, who had Emaraaty Ana and Clarendon House behind him when scoring for Adrian Nicholls at Beverley in September.
Richard Fahey’s Prince Of Pillo impressed at Lingfield Park in early February but has to bounce back from a below-par effort at the same course last time out.
Fahrenheit Seven is one of three runners returning from a break, with Mark Usher’s contender scoring at Newcastle on his latest outing in November.
Bergerac, who landed a valuable handicap at the track’s Northumberland Plate Festival in June, looks to continue Kevin Ryan’s good recent strike rate.
Mondammej, a four-time winner at Newcastle this winter for Antony Brittain, and Paul Midgley’s Ventura Express complete the field.
