Trainer Glen Kotzen saddles Grinkov in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the programme. He won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time.
Despite hanging in the closing stages, he quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The form of that race has been franked.
The son of Twice Over will be at home over the 1600m and from his good draw of three, he should take a power of beating.
Lazuli from the Gavin van Zyl yard may be the horse to close off the meeting. She ran a fair race against male company in her last start over 1200m on the polytrack.
She was reported to be not striding out that day. The daughter of Trippi will enjoy the extra furlong and back against her own sex, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. Pole position is a big plus.
