Nooresh Juglall – making his family proud
Former multiple South African champion apprentice jockey Nooresh Juglall gave his visiting family a wonderful send-off when riding a double at Kranji in Singapore on Sunday.
Cheered on by his father, mother, sister and wife, the Mauritian rider, who had his relatives nearing the end of a three-week visit in Singapore, Juglall rode two cracking winners on Just Duit (Race 6) and World War (Race 10), both for trainer Leslie Khoo.
It was not a first visit for the proud Juglall family.
They were there at their first stay last July when Juglall just began his Singapore stint and were also on hand when Magneto scored first-up in a Kranji Stakes A race over 1200m on February 22, as well as when Pint Sized Prince came from last to blow away his rivals in the last race on March 1.
“I thought Just Duit was his best chance today, but seeing him win a double on World War was a bonus,” said Juglall’s father, Mohunlall who flies back to Mauritius with the family on Tuesday.
“Abhishek (Nooresh’s nickname) won four races when we were here and we could not be happier. He’s doing us really proud.”
