Changes Proposed For NHRA

Amendments to constitution mooted

Simmering industry discontent with the racing regulator, and a quest for a more representative voice for all sectors, has led to an organised call on NHRA members to support motions to be tabled at a Special General Meeting of the National Horseracing Authority.

A minimum of 100 signatures is required in support of a request for the Special General Meeting, where the intention is to table matters contained in the notice addressed to the NHRA’s National Board Of Directors.

The notice, co-ordinated by the SA National Trainers Association, contains proposed amendments to the National Horseracing Authority’s Memorandum of Incorporation.

The proposals form part of a well organised effort to attempt to facilitate change, and thus create an environment where the future elected NHRA board more fully represents all participants in the industry.

Once the requisite number of signatures are obtained, the notice will be presented to the NHRA, who then have 30 days to respond.
