The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 5 September 2016, Jockey Muzi Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2, in that he rode Big Si in an unprofessional manner by intentionally releasing his reins immediately after the finish line in Race 7 at Greyville Racecourse on the 31 August 2016.

Jockey Yeni pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge.

After considering the evidence the Board imposed a fine of R2500.00.

Mr Yeni has the right of appeal against the finding and the severity of the penalty imposed.
