The National Horseracing Authority has confirm the members of the Stipendiary Board that will officiate at the Sun Met Race Meeting on Saturday.
Ernie Rodrigues – the NHA’s most experienced Stipendiary Steward with some thirty-three years’ in this role, most of which have been in senior positions. Ernie has been the Chief Stipendiary Steward in the Western Cape since 2010 after being an integral member of the KZN Stipendiary Board for many years, prior to this.
Nicholas Shearer – after a successful career as a professional Jockey, Nick commenced employment with the NHA in 2007 and has served in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and in the Western Cape as the Deputy Chief Stipendiary Steward since 2014.
Cecil van As – a vastly experienced Racing man, with a lifetime spent in the industry. Cecil’s career includes race riding at the highest level, being a natural horseman and enhancing the start as the Chief Starter in Cape Town and officiating as a Stipendiary Steward since 2006 in the same region.
Lyle Anderson – a former Trainer and Administrator that has earned respect as an official tasked with upholding the integrity of the Horseracing Industry. Lyle has risen to the top of the Stipendiary Steward ranks in a relatively short period of time, largely due to his natural leadership skills. Lyle is the Chief Stipendiary Steward, Central Provinces and recently benefited from spending a fortnight with the Stipendiary Steward panel in Hong Kong.
Deanthan Moodley – Deanthan is a qualified attorney that has found a career that enables him to utilize his talents and passion. Having started his career as a Stipendiary Steward in Johannesburg, Deanthan has been based in the Eastern Cape as a Senior Stipendiary Steward and presently is the Chief Stipendiary Steward, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
