The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 5 February 2018, Jockey Warren Kennedy was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.
This arose in that as the rider of SECOND TO NONE he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AEGEAN AIRE when shifting inwards near the 800m mark in Race 1 at Greyville Racecourse on 26 January 2018.
Jockey Kennedy pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Kennedy guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days.
Jockey Kennedy has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.
