The National Horseracing Authority confirms that an Inquiry was held at its Regional Office at Greyville Racecourse, Durban, on 29 February 2016.
Trainer L Denysschen was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that he was the person responsible for the horse PURE VALOR at the time when a specimen taken from the horse disclosed upon analysis the presence of Caffeine, a prohibited substance (classified as a class 3 substance in terms of the Guidelines) in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority. PURE VALOR participated in and won the 8th Race at Greyville on 10 February 2015 .
Mr Denysschen pleaded not guilty to the charge. However, the Inquiry Board found him guilty of the charge and, after considering all the evidence imposed a penalty of a fine of a fine of R35 000.00.
Furthermore, in terms of Rule 72.3.2 PURE VALOR is disqualified from the race and the provisions of Rule 67.7.8 shall apply
