The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms, in a press release on Wednesday 20 November 2024, that the undermentioned trainers have been fined and the horses disqualified.

AMIGO was disqualified, and Trainer L W Goosen signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined the sum of R26 000 (Twenty-Six Thousand Rand) for a contravention of Rule 73.2.3 in that a specimen which was collected from this horse prior to the running Race 4 on 13 October 2024, at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, disclosed upon analysis the presence of Flunixin (Class 4).

QUANTIFIER was disqualified, and Trainer Gareth van Zyl signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined the sum of R45 000 (Forty-Five Thousand Rand) for a contravention of Rule 73.2.3 in that a specimen which was collected from this horse prior to the running of Race 5 on 19 October 2024, at Turffontein Racecourse, disclosed upon analysis the presence of Furosemide (Class 4).
