The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 18 February 2016, Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of DUN CARRER he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when shifting in at approximately the 1600 metre mark in Race 8 at Greyville Racecourse on the 27 January 2016.

Mr Yeni pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board, after considering the evidence, found Mr Yeni guilty and imposed a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days.

Mr Yeni has the right of appeal against the finding and severity of the penalty imposed.
