NHA – Hewitson Suspended

Has right of appeal against the severity of penalty

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 15 April 2019, Jockey Lyle Hewitson was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

This arose in that as the rider of ELNORA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when shifting outwards in the closing stages of Race 1 at the Greyville Racecourse on 7 April 2019.
