The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on 1 March 2016, Jockey R Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of RAZED IN BLACK he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MEMPHIS MAFIA over the final 200 metres at the Fairview Racecourse on 15 January 2016.
A plea of not guilty was entered on Jockey Khathi’s behalf due to him being uncertain of what plea to enter to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Khathi guilty and imposed a penalty of a warning.
Jockey Khathi has the right of appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.
