AHS vacs – you’ve got until 31 January 2015
In a statement dated 11 December 2014, the NHA announced that the window period for vaccinating horses with African Horse Sickness has been extended to 31 January 2015 due to the unavailability of AHS vaccine.
Senior NHA Vet, Dr Dale Wheeler said, “It would appear that the vaccine has been produced and is being released, but this is not going to be in time to get all horses vaccinated with their first vaccine by the 10th of December 2014.”
“We shall continue to monitor the availability of vaccines and will make further changes, should we deem it necessary.”
