Swore At Owners – Trainer Fined

Has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg at Turffontein Racecourse on 24 January 2018, Mr Devin Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.11.

This arose in that he swore at and threatened Mr & Mrs Soru (who were Owners in his yard) when having a telephonic conversation with them on 23 July 2017.

Mr Little pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty of the charge.

The Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a fine of R7 500-00, of which R5 000-00 is wholly suspended for a period of one year provided that during that period Mr Little is not convicted of a contravention of Rule 72.1.11.

Mr Little has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
