Waived his right of appeal against penalty

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards Boardroom at Durbanville Racecourse on 11 September 2021, Jockey Craig Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that as the rider of TRAVEL MASTER he failed to take sufficient corrective measures to ensure that he did not cause interference to CAPTAIN DIZZY at the 100m in Race 8 at Kenilworth Racecourse on 4 September 2021.

Jockey Bantam pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty as charged.

The Inquiry Board after considering all the video evidence, his riding record and all mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.

Jockey Bantam waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed and was granted permission to take his suspension from 15 September to 21 September 2021, both days inclusive.
