NHA: Habib Suspended

He waived his right of appeal

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry which was held in Durban on 28 April 2016, Apprentice Jockey C Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of DO BE SNAPPY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TIPO TINTO (AUS) (*D Neethling) when he switched out at approximately the 350 metre mark in Race 6 at Greyville Racecourse on 22 April 2016.

Apprentice Jockey Habib pleaded guilty and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board having considered all the evidence, suspended Apprentice Jockey Habib from riding in races for a period of seven days.

Apprentice Jockey Habib waived his right of appeal and was granted permission to take his suspension from 8 May to 14 May 2016, both days inclusive.
