Bernard Fayd’herbe – fined R5000

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Cape Town on 12 May 2016, Jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2 in that as the rider of DYNAMIC, he rode the horse in an unprofessional manner in Race 5 at Scottsville Racecourse on 10 April 2016.

Jockey B Fayd’Herbe pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Board was satisfied that DYNAMIC had been passed at the time that Jockey Fayd’Herbe had stopped riding and that he had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining the first position by his actions.

The Inquiry Board accepted his plea and found Mr Fayd’Herbe guilty of the charge and after considering the evidence presented in mitigation, imposed a fine of R5 000.

Jockey Fayd’Herbe has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
