Newsflash – Winx Wins Cox Plate Again

Six length drubbing of Hartnell

Champion mare Winx has won back-to-back Cox Plates in stunning fashion, blowing away a world class field in Saturday’s race.

Winx won by more than six lengths ahead of second favourite Hartnell and Yankee Rose in third.

This was her 13th straight win and she has now passed the halfway mark of Black Caviar’s unbeaten streak.

The duel between her and Hartnell was considered the greatest match-up since the head-to-head fight between Bonecrusher and Our Waverley Star 30 years ago.

Her great victory makes her the first mare to win two Cox Plates since Sunline in 2000.
