Hollywoodbets Durbanville will host the rescheduled Cape Racing Sales Breeze Up & Unbroken 2yo Sale on Saturday at 18h00!
The prospect of unseasonally bad weather in the Cape on the originally scheduled Sunday slot has forced Cape Racing Sales to bring the Breeze Up & Unbroken Sale forward from 14h00 on Sunday to Saturday 26 October.
The 125 lot sale will commence at 18h00 on Saturday, after the completion of the Hollywoodbets Durbanville racemeeting. The sale chould be complete by 22h00 on Saturday evening.
Cape Racing’s Executive Racing and Bloodstock Justin Vermaak told the Sporting Post on Friday that the South African Weather Service had issued an advisory Level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall, which is expected to make landfall on Sunday.
“Cape Town’s emergency services have been placed on standby in anticipation of the forecast widespread showers and thundershowers which are predicted, along with windy conditions. We have to be mindful of the safety of our horses and our buyers, vendors and all personnel. After a snap survey amongst vendors, we decided to move the sale forward to 18h00 on Saturday. We trust that all stakeholders will support the short-notice move in the best interests of safety,” added Vermaak.

The breeze up gallops, fuelled by Winx Insurance Brokers, were held at the sales venue on Friday 25 October from 13h00, when lots 1 to 66 went through their paces.
Winx hosted a lunch from 12h00 to 15h00.
This sale coincides with Cape Racing Sales’ launch of its new online buyers’ card profile login system, designed to enhance the buying experience. This innovative platform allows buyers to create a profile, manage details, and access their digital buyers card once approved.
Prospective buyers can create a profile on the CRS website to begin the process of obtaining a buyers’ card.
After logging in, users can apply for their card, which will streamline the purchasing process for upcoming sales. Upon approval, buyers can select the specific sale they wish to participate in and must agree to the outlined terms and conditions.
