Newsflash : Turffontein Meeting Moves

Turffontein Saturday meeting moves to Sunday

The Turffontein racemeeting scheduled for Saturday 8 September has been moved to Sunday 9th September at the same venue.

The first race is now off at 12h25 and the ninth race will jump at 17h25.

40mm of rain has fallen at Turffontein in the last two days and the going is currently soft. Moving Saturday’s meeting to Sunday will give the surface an extra day to dry.

Moving the Kenilworth meeting to Sunday was apparently not an option because there is rain forecast for Cape Town on Sunday.

Kenilworth revised race times:

Race 7: 15h35

Race 8 : 16h10

Race 9 : 16h45

Race 10 : 17h20

The times for Kenilworth for the aforementioned races have been moved 5 minutes later than carded and Turffontein times have been amended for Sunday.

New race times at Turffontein are as follows:
Race 1 : 12:25
Race 2 : 13:05
Race 3 : 13:45
Race 4 : 14:20
Race 5 : 15:00
Race 6 : 15:35
Race 7 : 16:10
Race 8 : 16:50
Race 9 : 17:25

The Quartet Maxipool will now be on Turffontein Race 9 on Sunday.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
