After consultation with the various stake holders, officials of the National Horseracing Authority ruled that the section of re-laid grass over the new subway at Greyville had not recovered sufficiently for racing to take place tomorrow night, Friday, 21 December 2012.
Their decision came following a six-horse trial gallop at Greyville this morning and as a consequence Gold Circle has switched the scheduled Greyville meeting to Clairwood on Saturday (22 December 2012).
In order to give the track further recovery time, the meeting scheduled for Greyville on 1 January 2013 has also been moved to Clairwood and a decision regarding the Greyville meeting scheduled for 8 January will be taken early in the New Year.
With over 800mm of rain having fallen over the past four months and very little sunshine, the re-laid section has taken longer to recover than expected
