Newsflash : Fairview Sunday

Fairview Sunday meeting cannot go ahead on turf

In a dramatic move to save the Fairview meeting scheduled for Sunday 27 October, Phumelela have moved all of the races to the Polytrack surface, which was officially opened on Friday.

Rain has continued to come down this weekend and it is unlikely that the turf surface would have stood up.

The distance of the fifth race, a 1400m event, has been amended to 1300m.

Eliminations, where necessary, will be done at 9am on Sunday.

The day’s feature, the R350 000 Gr3 Betting World Algoa Cup will thus also be run on the Polytrack.
