Top jockey Anton Marcus has been diagnosed with a fractured wrist after he was stood down following his outstanding win in the Gr2 Daisy Guineas at Greyville on Friday evening and after a fall in the parade for the next race.
Marcus was unseated from Brett Crawford runner White River in the parade ring prior to the Daisy Guineas.
X-rays have revealed a fracture and he will thus not ride at Turffontein on Saturday.
The Sporting Post has learnt that S’manga Khumalo is likely to replace him on Sean Tarry superstar Legal Eagle in the R4 million Gr1 Premier’s Champions Challenge.
Anton is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.
