Scott Elected Gold Circle Chair

Full election of Directors completed

Following the recent full election of Directors for the Gold Circle Racing Club and Gold Circle (Pty) Ltd, a meeting of Directors was held on Thursday where Belinda Scott was elected as the new Chairperson of Gold Circle (Pty) Ltd together with Sadha Naidoo as Vice-Chairperson.

Belinda and Sadha take over from Neil Butcher and Phumla Mnganga, who had served their statutory terms on the Board.

“We are so thankful to Neil Butcher, Phumla Mnganga, Babu Nunan, Greg Petzer and Paul Lafferty for their contribution to Gold Circle and what they have done to help sustain the sport of Horseracing in this province through very challenging times”, said Belinda Scott.

She continued, “The Horseracing Industry has shown its resilience through the Covid-19 era and the Board, together with management and our partners will ensure that Gold Circle continues to lead the way in South Africa.”

Mayesh Chetty was elected as Chairperson of the Gold Circle Racing Club with Lance Whiteford as Vice-Chairperson.

“We will maintain the highest standards as we operate with transparency and integrity to support our stakeholders in staging world class horseracing”, said Mayesh.

The Standing Committee Chairpersons of Gold Circle (Pty) Limited are recorded as follows:

  • Audit and Risk Committee – Gary Grant
  • Remuneration Committee – Greg Petzer
  • Social and Ethics Committee – Manana Nhlanhla
  • Racing Committee – Mayesh Chetty
